Data visualization is the communication of data in a visual manner so that it can be easily interpreted by your readers.Visualizing data in charts, graphs, dashboards, and infographics is one of the most powerful strategies for getting your numbersout of your spreadsheets and into real-world conversations. There are few steps which can be kept in mind while designingor creating effective dashboards which are :1) Type of Audience : Audience plays a key role in creating dashboards. All sorts of methods should be chosen according to the type of audience /user we have.A good note of all the types of audience will help in chosing a significant method for visualization .2) Type of Chart : It takes a while to understand all the different chart types and to picking up the best one for desired result. There are various types of graphswhich can be used as per user so that it helps them to understand things effctively . There are various examples such as bar chart , pie chart , line chart etc, funnel char or heat map.3) Work on the Data set : There is majority of instances when the data which we obtain is not fully filtered . This is a major step before proper visualization. All data cleaning/mining is to be done like omitting missing parameters, outliers and spikes. Work on them and think what effect the parameters make in the dataand if they are not worthy enough then how they can be cleanly removed.4) Showing Clean data with color : Once the data is clean and ready to be shown on dashboard , showcasing it with different colors makes a huge impact. The importance of color makes the data or result to be presented effectively and it makes it very easy for the audience/user to understand the data flow andand get clear insights from the data and it also make it very easy to grasp as well .Thus an effective data visulisation is always mandatory to be processed .Dashboards are for internal audiences (for example, to help directors make decisions about a program’s future). Dashboards provide key metrics about a program, department, or organization, usually at regular intervals over time .There are countless data visualizations out there and they all tell different yet impactful data stories. In other words, your data isn’t rendered visually useless just because it doesn’t work in one particular category or type of data visualization. You just need to help your data find its visual match. Once you've got that covered, you can start pinpointing key insights and trends. When data visualizations are put together on a dashboard with a data visualization tool, these visualizations become magic in helping people understand what is going on in their role/business that is impacting them.By:Yashi Sahu
